TCUHOCKEY
Where it all began
At Texas Christian University, 2012 is a time for change. As we take the giant leap of entering the Big XII beginning in the fall, the thrill of joining a major competitive conference has sparked potential for change in not only the athletics program but the entire framework of the school. This private, coed university located in Fort Worth, Texas attracts students from all areas of the country and has grown tremendously in out of state attraction over the past several years. A few innovative students had the dream to develop a hockey program to bring their love of hockey back out onto the ice to compete with other universities around the nation. This September, the Horned Frogs step onto the ice with dreams of competing with many other major athletic programs with one common goal: to play the sport they love. Although ice hockey isn’t exactly the most followed sport in the state of Texas, let alone the entire southeastern region, enough men at TCU missed lacing up their skates and the thrill of face offs to join this club team in hopes to compete with major existing hockey programs around the country.
Coached by Mike Caressimo, this team has major potential to compete with the other teams. With a competitive schedule ahead of them and the desire to represent TCU in their purple and white, this team is off to a tremendous start to a milestone in Texas Christian University’s history.
Join us in following this exciting new adventure as 2012 finally brings hockey to Texas Christian University.
